The Angostura® Global Cocktail Challenge 2018
The Angostura® Global Cocktail Challenge 2018 (AGCC) is open to bartenders from around the world.
At stake is the coveted title of “Angostura® Global Cocktail Challenge Champion,” a cash prize of US$10,000 and a two-year contract to serve as the Angostura® Global Brand Ambassador, representing world-famous ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters, ANGOSTURA® orange bitters, Angostura® Rums and Amaro di ANGOSTURA®. Trophies will also be awarded to the Winners of the Best Rum Cocktail and the Best Amaro Cocktail.
The competition will roll-out globally with a series of Heats in national and regional markets throughout 2017. The final will take place in Trinidad and Tobago on February 11th, 2018.
The History of the AGCC
The first Angostura® Global Cocktail Challenge (AGCC) took place in April 2001at the Robinson Crusoe Pub at the Hilton, Tobago. In2011, the decision was taken to hold the Competition during Trinidad Carnival — the Greatest Show on Earth! The2017/18 Competition will be the 9th edition of what has become a key event on the International mixology calendar.
Finalists enjoy the experience of a lifetime while in Trinidad and Tobago, with a tour of the Angostura Distillery and Museum, visits to local steel bands, the chance to “play’mas” in full costume on Carnival Tuesday, and much more! It’s no wonder that the Competition has grown from strength to strength — indeed, the AGCC2016 saw the largest number of entrants to date: 287participants, drawn from 900 entrants, competed from 36 countries.
