Sun-dried Tomatoes

A specialty with a typical Mediterranean flavour, dried tomatoes are a result of the farmer’s need to preserve food for the winter in a simple manner. Picked when they are fully ripe, the tomatoes are sliced in half and exposed to the warm southern sun until perfectly dried. The aroma and flavour of summer are thus captured in the pulp for a long time, ready to be returned to the palate when consumed, softened in oil, vinegar and aromas.

Serving suggestions:

Great consumed straight as an appetizer, as a base for “bruschette”, added to omelettes and chicken salads thinly sliced
